Windows Media Player

Microsoft has updated Windows Media Player with a modern interface. It is available by default on the latest Windows versions.

Codec support

Unlike mpv or VLC, Windows Media Player does not support all codecs by default. You may need to install the HEVC codec from the Microsoft Store for some video files.
